Sail22 Melges 24 Chicago Tuning Regatta

Sail22 is excited to officially announce registration is now open for the Sail22 Melges 24 Chicago Tuning Regatta to be held August 6-8, 2010 and hosted by Chicago Corinthian Yacht Club in Montrose Harbor. We were asked by several Mid-West teams if we could put on a similar event to the Sail22 Melges 24 Worlds Tuning Regatta we held last October in Annapolis, Maryland and jumped at the chance. We had a blast putting on the regatta for the teams and had a lot of great feedback from the event. We plan to make the August event even better and are looking forward to having some great teams in attendance!

Check out the NOR and more detailed information for the event here or by clicking on the Chicago Tuning Regatta tab at the top of this page.

We are fortunate to have many returning sponsors of our event including West System, McLube, Quantum Sails, Weather Routing Inc. and Melges Performance Boats. We also are excited to have Zhik, Sailing World, Yacht Scoring, Cre843, Line Honors and Sailrite join our sponsor list to make the Sail22 Melges 24 Chicago Tuning Regatta an awesome event. Each week we’ll be giving you an update on what our great sponsors will be doing for the regatta and we can’t wait to share this with you since they have been incredibly generous and supportive.

Check out the photos from the event last October and read more about it here, here, here and here. We hope to see you in Chicago! Please feel free to email us at info@sail22.com, call us at 574-889-0022 or leave us a comment with any questions you may have. We’ll answer you right away!

If you need a place to keep your boat before or after the event, we have plenty of storage at Sail22 Headquarters and have a brand new Sail22 Speed Barn for all of your boat work needs to boot!

Sail22 Speed Barn Exterior Completion

The Sail22 Speed Barn exterior was completed over the weekend when the garage doors were installed. The concrete pads for the exterior went in last Friday and look great. Gravel should go down in the next week or so when we have a few dry days in a row.

We are in the process of planning the interior and selecting our I-Beam and 2 ton hoist. We are also working on ordering an industrial air compressor (exciting huh?), figuring out the best lighting (we’re planning to use LED) and electrical before the inside is insulated and finished out with a metal exterior.

Let us know if you need to work on your boat or have boat work done at the Sail22 Speed Barn!
