MELGES 24 WORLDS DAY 3 REPORT

Yesterday brought more light air racing to the teams at the Melges 24 Worlds in Annapolis. JoeFly ITA 777 won the first race of the day and moved into first overall in the standings. The Norwegian team on NOR 804 Full Medal Jacket had a great day with a fifth in the first race of the day and a strong win in the second one.

Overall, JoeFly has a one point lead on Chris Larson’s West Marine/New England Ropes and the Norwegians are in third place. Bill Hardesty’s Event Clothing/Atlantis is in fourth and ITA 787 Gullisara is in fifth. Full results are posted here

Today’s racing looks to be similar to yesterday with overcast skies, temps in the mid-50′s and the possibility of showers. The breeze is currently 5-6 knots out of the east at 090. Hopefully the RC is able to get off three races today. We’ll be updating from the water at www.sailingupdates.com all day and photos are posted from the previous days at www.sail22photography.com. We’d love to hear feedback from our followers to know where we can make improvements on the updates.
